Living in Canada I’ve come to understand how bogus the Australian system is where a few hollow men and women in a back room decide who is Prime Minister – forget Demoncracy. It was the wrong way to fire Rudd and it’s not right this weekend.
What perhaps concerns me most is the “average” person’s lack of understanding of, or interest in politics including policies, agendas and what parties put in their manifestos. When voting, stop voting based solely on gut reaction to economic climate at the time of the election. Politics can be complicated, but educate yourself a little and you’ll be amazed at how much you can really get to know about politics in a very short time, especially with the help of Google and Wikipedia as a starting point.
